    {{Needs Updating|Short Reason}}
(where Short Reason is a brief description of what needs to be corrected/added) at the very top of the page.

I decided to start a new list instead of keeping going to the last one.

The new building upgrades that allow production of multiple items at once (10 gold) seem to be missing,

I don't have the time to do this so I'm throwing it out there for someone who's willing to pick up the glove.

I would do this but I can't find the template and since it's so vital I'm not sure what the administrative privileges are.

        Loading editor
    • Yes, it's admin protected. FMF will change it; we just need to decide where to put it. Tales is technically there, but the menu won't show past 10 items so it's invisible. (It's under "The Story.")

I proposed in my other thread somewhat of an overhaul for the menu because Tales was missing and the Alliance section contains a lot of useless information.

Tomorrow, the new volume Breaking Ties is released, and it definitely needs to go under "The Story," and that will make 9 different volumes in the storyline, so the menu does need to be changed somehow. FMF had suggested splitting Game Pages into two different categories, like Game and Lore.

I just played around with some different ideas for the menu: Template:Test/Velvet. Given the 10 link limit, I broke it a few different ways. I don't know if level 4 is a possibility (probably not), so things like "Recording Your Lineage" can be handled the way the different building types are now and it still won't max out the 10 link limit.

I didn't mess with the Community links, although we do need to edit those too at some point, to add a few of the newer "how to" guides.

        Loading editor
    • The 10 limit can be changed.  I've done it before with other nav nars.

        Loading editor
    • Okay - please relay how to FMF so it can be fixed.

    • FMF

I'm guessing you have to contact wikia to do this.

If anyone wants to experiment with the navbar → MediaWiki:Wiki-navigation

        Loading editor
    • Urgh.  Contacting wikia is painful.  Done it before.  So not even Rhae and the like have access?

        Loading editor
    • The new volume is now live. Until FMF so kindly updates the templates (thank you again) and we figure out the menu situation, it can only be found by name. FMF, since you have admin rights, can you also update the front page of the Wiki and, instead of "Season 5 has premiered," maybe change it to reflect the release of Breaking Ties and include a link to the volume page?

I have created the volume page and all storyline pages, complete with redirects. I figure most Wiki contributors can create quest pages but maybe feel a little intimidated by that aspect of it, so I took care of the issue.

    • Since I can't edit the to do template, I'll add this here:

      • Add details to new tier 4/level 15 building upgrades
        • Don't forget to tally the new battle/trade/intrigue points at the top and on the main building page

Some of them are done, some are there but incomplete, and some are missing entirely. I am not planning on purchasing them, and I'm too newly reincarnated to even see the requirements on most of them. But here's what it said in the forum post, to help whoever ultimately adds/updates them:

"Produce X upgrades are Tier 4 upgrades that cost 10 gold, and allow you to produce up to 4 items at a time, in each building you own. The only buildings that will not have these upgrades are the Great Hall, the Dragon Pit, and the Village Center (which already has one). All of these upgrades require 15 upgrades to have been built in the building to unlock, and each one costs the same: 1,000 silver, 10 gold, and two basic resources. These upgrades do provide stat boosts." - [1]

    • Problem with the menu is not just with 10 sub-menus (level 3) items.

Currently we have 7 menus under Game Pages (level 2) , and while that number may or may not be limited to 10 as well (never tested it tbh), we also have the actual page width to consider, so the menu doesn't get cut off or split into 2 rows.

Maybe we could rename The Story into Activities with the following sub-menus:

This would contain all the major activities one can undertake within the game. There are other changes needed within menu, but this change would cover the most pressing issue of the missing Tales and Breaking Ties.

        Loading editor
    • That suggestion makes sense, and it does cover everything you can do. I'm not sure about calling it "Activities" but I really have no idea what else to call it. Game Events? Quests and Events? Quests and Challenges? At this point, I'm not really picky. :)

      Glasshouse: Gardeners
      Reliquary: Curators
      Arbor: Vintners
      Fishery: Fishmongers
      Shipyard: Shipwrights
      Feast: Cooks
      Warehouse: Clerks

      Armory: Armorers
      Watchtower: Signal Fire

    • I added a little code to the first post. Basically it uses Template:To Do List which is displayed on front page, with a little extra styling.

That way we can make updates to one list and display it on various locations, and it makes it easy to start a new monthly topic with the same code.

        Loading editor
    • I updated the Stats page to include all new upgrades.

        Loading editor
    • Thank you for allowing the list to be editable.

I added updating the "used to craft" section of item cards; DB recently reduced crafting time of all materials (except the very basic ones) used to quicken/hatch/evolve dragons. I went through and changed -- hopefully all -- of the buildings and the first 2-3 tiers. Basically, the "used to craft" section of materials like Dyed Textile still have the old crafting times and need to be updated. I make no guarantees that I got everything when I worked on it last, but I doubt anyone wants to check my work. It took hours, and I got a headache!

    • Every Shop Packs page  has been outfitted with an Items Nav Bar. I saw you had that on the list of "high importance" things here: http://gotascent.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:45135.

    • Nicely done, I'll cross it over ;)

    • OK Added Part 3 to Breaking Ties. Just Robert's Rebellion allready exsists as a link. Do we rename that one or giv Breaking Ties, Part 3 another linkname like  Robert's Rebellion (BT), or just remove the link to Robert's Rebellion on the Glossery page (use it to link it to Breaking Ties, Part 3 instead).

        Loading editor
    • I would say give the Breaking Ties volume another linkname. Something like Robert's Rebellion (Breaking Ties) .

        Loading editor
    • For consistency, it should be Robert's Rebellion (Vol BT).

Don't forget to disambiguate or add to Category:Disambig Needed.

P.S. I've finished Project: Disambiguate! so I'll be starting on the Naming Conventions Project soon.

    • I noticed that the Sortable Adventure Rewards table is missing a lot of drop rates. Is there any way I could use the "inspect element" tool on each adventure in game to get the drop rates to fill those in?

        Loading editor
    • DB have made considerable effort to encrypt the drop rates. We've been waiting for the release of the EDDARD data after the loot tables and drop rates were modified, but it doesn't look like that's happened yet.

P.S. I'm trying to think of activities that would be easy for you to pick up, but I'm kinda drawing a blank. Unless you want to try your hand at updating the Glossary?

        Loading editor
    • I'll give it a shot. What needs fixing?

        Loading editor
    • Oh, I can come up with all kinds of things for people to do, if that's an issue. Tedious things, probably. But I would imagine every task will have some tediousness.

I have a proposal for our Next Big Thing. We really need to work on the Wiki menu. Earlier in this post, FMF, Lady Raventree, Itenion, and I talked about it very briefly. I played with my suggestions on Template:Test/Velvet and Itenion offered his/her suggestions after that, and then we all started talking about the tier 4 upgrades and never came back to it, lol.

Please offer up some suggestions because it's driving me batty, not being able to find what I want :)

This is our menu structure now: MediaWiki:Wiki-navigation

    • Honestly, I hate the glossary and I don't even know why we have one.

I know the original contributors put staggering amounts of time and effort into creating this wiki, but I've sometimes wondered "why do we need this?"

I haven't had a dig into the glossary to see what, exactly, we need to be doing to make it more user-friendly, but that could be a task in itself, I suppose.

        Loading editor
    • Yay, Scotty! I warn you though, it probably won't be that fun.

Just going to copy what I put up above (with corrections to my typos, heh):

I started updating the "used to craft" section of item cards; DB recently reduced crafting time of all materials (except the very basic ones) used to quicken/hatch/evolve dragons.

If you know your dragon evolution, I would recommend starting at the very bottom and working your way forward. So: hatching a live egg. Look at the materials needed for that (Dormant Egg, Offering, Incense). Then cross reference every material's page (Offering), the materials needed to craft that material (Ceremonial Bowl, Ceremonial Dagger, Sacrifice), the materials for THOSE materials (Lead, Dyed Textile, etc.) and so on... and make sure the timers and coin amounts are accurate.

Be aware that if you have any reductions to timers or costs, your numbers may vary and will need to be adjusted to match the no-reduction amounts.

      Fun, right?  :)

Like I said, I think I got through a lot of them, but I really started to mix myself up, particularly with the Dragon Pit and Alchemists' Guild recipes, since they ARE different. But I know I didn't get all the way down the line (I am almost positive that I only did 1-2 of the uncommon resources, and those are a beast), and there are some incorrect timers out there.

In essence, we should probably make sure everything in EVERY building is correct and up to date, and ensure that the item card pages correctly reflect those figures ... and on down the line. Whee.

That always trips me up. I ended up having to get some of the numbers for Adolescent Dragons off my baby alt (and I still missed some).
