The North
The Wall is a barrier built by Bran the Builder to protect the lands of Westeros from an ancient threat. The wall is made of ice and old magic and is patroled by the Night's Watch. There are a number of keeps built into the wall, but with the declining number of Watchmen, all but three have been abandoned.

LandmarksEdit

The Land Beyond the Wall

the northernmost area of Westeros, that cover the lands north of the Wall. It is populated by the Free Folk.
Brandon's Gift

the area in the North stretching fifty leagues south from the Wall that was given to the Night's Watch in perpetuity to support and aid the Watch. It is under the protection of both the Night's Watch and Winterfell. The eastern lands of Brandon's Gift consist of large rolling plans that reach the Shivering Sea, while the western regions, which end at the Bay of Ice, are increasingly forested and mountainous.
Mole's Town

a village close to Castle Black. It lies along the Kingsroad in Brandon's Gift, half a league south of the Wall. Mole's Town is bigger than it seems. Three-quarters of the village lies beneath ground in deep damp warm cellars connected by a warren of tunnels. There is a brothel located in the cellars, with nothing more than a shack no bigger than a privy on the surface. Members of the Night's Watch visit the brother frequently.
Weatherback Ridge

a ridge that sits near Castle Black.
The Nineteen Castles
Shadow Tower

one of three castles along the Wall that are still inhabited by the Night's Watch. It is located next to mountains at the far end of the Wall. It lies west of Sentinel Stand.
Sentinel Stand

an abandoned castle along the Wall belonging to the Night's Watch. It lies east of the Shadow Tower.
Greyguard

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It has largely collapsed. It has been abandoned for two hundred years. It lies west of Stonedoor and east of Sentinel Stand.
Stonedoor

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of Greyguard and east of Hoarfrost Hill.
Hoarfrost Hill

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of Stonedoor and east of Icemark.
Icemark

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of Hoarfrost Hill and east of the Nightfort.
The Nightfort

one of the castles along the Wall. It is the only castle along the Wall where the steps up the side of the Wall were carved into the ice. It was abandoned by the Night's Watch two hundred years before the War of the Five Kings. It sits between Icemark to the west and Deep Lake to the east.
Deep Lake

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of The Nightfort and east of Queensgate. The castle sits next to a green lake seven miles east of the Nightfort.
Queensgate

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of Deep Lake and east of Castle Black.
Castle Black

the main fortress for the Night's Watch. The castle is situated along the Wall between Queensgate to the west and Oakenshield to the east, near the center of the Wall, at the northern end of the Kingsroad. The village of Mole's Town is located half a league to the south along the Kingsroad.
Oakenshield

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of Castle Black and east of Woods Watch.
Woods Watch

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of Oakenshield and east of Sable Hall.
Sable Hall

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of Woods Watch and east of Rimegate.
Rimegate

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of Sable Hall and east of The Long Barrow.
The Long Barrow

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of Rimegate and east of The Torches.
The Torches

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of The Long Barrow and east of Greenguard.
Greenguard

a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It lies west of The Torches and east of East Watch.
East Watch

the easternmost castle along the Wall, located on a grey, windswept shore by the Bay of Seals. Near East Watch live some fisherfolk and to the west lies Greenguard. Some Wildlings trade with the Night's Watch at East Watch.
