The Minstrel's Squire

Kirth is called to the Riverrun dungeons to play for the guards. One of the Lannister hostages claps when he's done. "Could you use a squire, ser?"

Kirth laughs. "King Robb is Ned Stark's son. You really think he'll let anyone hurt you?" The boys still look worried.
Kirth takes up his lute and forces a smile. "Chin up, boys. Do you like 'The Rains of Castamere'?" The boys listen, but do not smile back.
Kirth frowns, looking at the guards. "Should they be talking?" One of the guards pounds the bars. "Enough out of you brats!" The boys fall silent.
