There are two types of Pacts that you can make with other players: Marriage, and the Betrothal of either one or both of your two children in the game. The Pacts interface is found within the Character section of the game menu. Pacts are dissolved upon reincarnation, but can be re-formed once the player reaches level 4.

Marriage

Pact Marriage

During game play, you can decide to have your character marry another player's character. Entering a Marriage Pact grants both players 100 Power, and players can send each other daily gifts of Ale or Bacon.

Players must be level 4 to marry. Marriage is a requirement of the Died Happy Achievement.

Proposing Marriage

The proposing person must look at the other player's Character profile to send a request, initiating the A Marriage Proposal Quest.

Considering the Proposal

Depending on the option selected by the one proposing marriage, the player will receive a Raven initiating either An Offer of Marriage for Love or An Offer of Marriage for Appearance.

Refusing Marriage

Refusing a proposal may result in both characters not being able to enter into the same kind of pact with another person. This is a Known Issue that can only be resolved by Reincarnation.

Breaking a Pact

There is no in-game way of breaking a Marriage Pact once it has been accepted. The following links can be used to remove a current Pact, but are unsupported by Disruptor Beam, and may result in unintended effects in your game.

Betrothal

Diplomacy Pacts Icon

You have two children in the game that you can betroth to marry the child of another player's character; your son, Jon, and your daughter, Ella. You may only initiate a Betrothal Pact for your son; your daughter is betrothed when accepting a Pact from another player. Entering a Bethrothal Pact grants both players 100 Power, and the ability to send Favors, if those players are not already Friends.

Betrothal Pacts can be canceled up until the time that they are accepted by both parties.

Proposing a Betrothal

The proposing person look at the other player's Character profile to send a request, initiating the Arranging a Marriage quest.

Considering the Betrothal

Depending on the option selected by the one proposing betrothal, the player will receive a Raven initiating either Arranging Marriage for Lineage or Arranging Marriage for Power.
