Loved the guide, just wanted your thoughts on the following. I just wrapped up my third reincarnation, but instead of getting both daggers (Valyrian and Obsidian) and moving on, I took the opportunity to sell all my equipment and bought 2 peerless SS and spent 3 gold each on making them permanent (and to also transfer some nice seals as well)
Given it takes me a week or two to get through reincarnations I will have earned enough gold to do the same again (maybe just 1 maybe as many as 3). Thoughts on this gradual accumulation of SS given that the trade off is not getting the premium building upgrades? (I did get the Coin House and Village Center before doing this)
There's no such building upgrades for Trade based actions. One of those 2 upgrades will help you finish quests (and adventures, PtP, AvA) faster, which will speed up your reincarnation and/or save you some Bread. Usually takes me 2-3 days to reach that particular building upgrade and re-learn it.
Apart from that, it's the course of action I took as well. 1-2 new SS is with each reincarnation will slowly build up your army.
Thanks for the advice, I am about to hit 2 months on the game and may set aside the gold for that purpose specifically. I am going to have to do Grey Joy for a few rounds after I finish this current one as well.
The silver saved in buying fewer cheap SS could easily be used to build out Horseshoes and Foreign Diplomat as well.
It's certanly a good tactic to have, as it will help you have a couple of established Sworn Swords to use to help you punch through some of the more difficult Sworn Sword Quests.
I would suggest getting a Peerlesst Trade Specialist and send them on Adventures CONSTANTLY to get them to be as high a level as possible (at least 20, or better yet, 25 if you can manage it). Put all of their Training into Barter. Give them the best Barter Defence Gear you can manage and use them to Patrol for Barters so that you can get as much Silver as you can when other people Barter with you.
I love playing the game but I'm not understanding what the goal is. I'm losing interest in the game cause I'm doing the same thing over and over with what purpose? Does the weapons I make need to match the qualities of my SS? The camp to my understanding requires 20 plus to enter yet I gave money, etc. what is the goal of this game? I got my daughter interested in it but now I'm ready to quit. I read a lot
The point of the game is the storyline. The items and troops you craft assist you to increase the strength (Stats) of your Character and your Sworn Swords, which will allow you to have a better chance at succeeding in Sworn Sword Quests, which you will encounter as you progress through the Story.
Front Page is almost done - some minor tweaks are still required, but overall I think it turned out even better than I originally thought it would.
I like working on 2 projects at the same time, so when I get stuck on one of them I can switch to the other to clear my head a bit. One of the long-term projects is Navigation Bars and I dare to say it's coming along quite well (5 done, lots more to make). However with Front Page done, I decided it's time for a new one, and I know you've been wanting a new map for our wiki.
So after a hard days' work, here's the first draft in my temp page, including Nav Bar and Map: User:Itenion/Geography...
Can't say for sure since you removed the pages you created, but it seems you tried to make those pages on the forum. Content pages should be done directly on wikia, forum is just for support and stuff like that.
Most of the pages can be done using this form: Create a New Page. However, from what I can tell you were trying to make a page about a shop deal, which cannot be found on the form I just mentioned; I still gave you the link in case you need it in the future.
About making a blank page, it's rather simple...just type this wiki address and then add Chosen Page Name at the end, like this:
http://gotascent.wikia.com/wiki/Chosen Page Name.
If the page you typed doesn't exist yet, you will see a big text at the top of the page saying This page needs content. You can help by adding a sentence or a photo. and above that text you will see a button Create.
If I manage to pull this off, we might be able to use it for some other projects Majipoor was trying to do it the past, and maybe even some implementation of my frontpage vision.
ETA: Majipoor uploaded the script for me. I think this page could replace our current Talents page entirely. Might need to test it on a few different PCs to see if all is up and working properly, but from the few people that tested it already, it there wasn't any problems. Here's the LINK to the test page.
It's very possible. I normally prefere to accept requests from Registered Users, but tell me a bit about yourself, and let me know what your FB icon looks like so that when you request to join our FB group, I'll know to let you in.
Hello my deario! So after being out of commission for roughly the last month...still not fully operational though (don't worry just computer stuff) I'm half back and just need to know if there's anything in particular we need to work on.
World Event pages (particularly Camp requirements) are a new thing that need to be added. There's a post about them in the To Do List in the Forum.
I've been considering if each of the Platform Options should be given their own page, or if listing them all as they are at present is better. There are a LOT of Pros and Cons that need to be listed for the iPhone, iPad and Android Apps - and I figure the COns will be a good place to list the known bugs for each of the Apps. But this will make the page reeeeally long.
Itenion has made a Blog about how he'd like to see our front page reVamped. Sadly most of what he'd like to do is super-awesome and not possible due to the way Wikia Wikis are structured. BUT, some of his ideas are definitely doable and I think they're worth implementing.
We need to get our Geographical pages sorted. We don't have a page for War Map, which is a main game mechanic for the game. We also don't have a page for Seize Power, nor Garrisons. I'm working on getting some folks to make Tutorials about how AvA now works with Garrisoning, and I've recruited some assistance from a Gold Cloak to keep our Known Bugs page up to date.
I'm pretty sure our Build Updates page is grossly out of date. : (
Me and Bashir already made most of the pages about World Event, including camps, quest and adventures.
About front page, as I already mentioned above I'm cautiously optimistic that a lot of things actually can be done. The same structure (not design) could also be used for those really long pages you mentioned (pros & cons about different platforms).
It seems there's no way to retrieve user data (name, avatar etc.) and putting anything above the menu is impossible. So I decided to scrap the "header" part of the layout and focus on content. With a few modifications to the original design, I'm quite satisfied with how it all turned out.
Now I can't really test it to full extend, because subpages have this sidebar on the right side of every page, but on front page that sidebar is just part of the article so it can be removed. Anyways, you can check it out on this link: Front Page - Test
Hi! I'm fairly new to GOTA, but I'm loving it so far and would like to join your alliance. I have sworn fealty to House Tyrell, and although I plan to reincarnate at some point, my allegiance will always lie with Olenna. My player ID is [removed] (I've also created a facebook for my character, Dorna Wylde -- I've requested to join the alliance FB group.)
Fantastic, thank you! I’m currently on the mobile platform but I’m working on registering my account on Disruptor Beam (mobile is pretty buggy right now, hopefully they’ll get around to my registration ticket in the next few days.) Please don’t feel rushed to add me, I’ll gladly take the time to develop Lady Dorna Wylde a bit more :)
the first line can be modified to "position:absolute" and the "top" & "right" values added if you want it at a fixed location on every page that uses it regardless of the location it is added on the page.
I've just added it to all of the CoM's pages and it seems to work as it is, but I have to admit I like your positioning of the banner better. It seems more compact. But I think the template has to have non-absolute values as sometimes it sits just to the left of people's profile templates.
the absolute means a fixed location relative to the top-left of the page while relative means relative to the place it appears in source mode.
so if for example you put the template after the lineage template "absolute" will display on the same place regardless (top left/right depending on the values you designated in the template), "relative" will appear after the lineage template
to make it compatible with other potential templates, "relative" is probably better
I made a slight readjustment of the position of the banner to make it like the one above, you can fine-adjust the position by changing the value of "top" and "left" that I changed (the ones under "Date: Wrap")
So I've been playing this game for about a year now and i feel like i can do most of the stuff that i want to, but there is just one this I can not figure out for the life of me. How do I attack other alliances' camps or whatever I have to do in order to get the spoils from each AvA phase?
