Braavos

Braavos is the most powerful of the Free Cities, located in a lagoon on the northwestern end of Essos, where the Narrow Sea and the Shivering Sea meet. Unlike the other Free Cities, Braavos was never part of the Valyrian Freehold, but was instead founded 500 years before Aegon's Landing by refugees fleeing Valyrian expansion. For centuries it was called the Secret City and remained relatively unknown to the rest of the world. It became publicly revealed after the Doom of Valyria, roughly 400 years after its founding.

The Purple Harbor

a harbor located in the Free City of Braavos. It serves only the locals and is located on the north side of Braavos. The Braavosi traders tie up their boats beneath the domes and towers of the Sealord's Palace. The ships of the Iron Bank of Braavos moor at the Purple Harbor. It is a nicer, cleaner port that the Ragman’s Harbor. Ships from Braavos’s sister cities and the rest of the wide world must instead use the Ragman’s Harbor to berth.

a harbor open to all foreign ships, is located in the west. It is poorer, dirtier, and and noisier than the Purple Harbor.
The Titan of Braavos

a massive stone and bronze statue that guards the entrance into the lagoon where Braavos is situated. It is the primary line of defense for Braavos and lets out a loud blast whenever a ship approaches the entrance to warn the city of its coming. The feet of the statue lie on two separate islands, each set upon a mountain. The islands are covered in soldier pines and black spruce. The legs are made of the same black granite that form the islands upon which it stands. One hand rests on the top of a ridge, its bronze fingers wrapped around the stone. The other hand is thrust into the air holding the hilt of a broken sword. In its eyes burn large fires and its hair is made of hempen rope dyed green. Its head is crested with a bronze halfhelm and its breastplate is bronze filled with arrow slits. The Titan's hips are encased in an armored skirt of a green bronze hue, the bottom covered in murder holes.
