Base Treachery is a Sworn Sword Quest that is part of the Hedge Knight storyline.
Rona knocks at your chamber. "Forgive the intrusion, my [lady/lord], but Ser Medwyck is gone. I have suspicions that he might be our spy."
Family Alignment QuestShould you select the Family option, the following Sworn Sword Quest will activate:
Once your troops catch up to Ser Medwyck, he surrenders peaceably, throwing down his blade and helm.
You send men to block the roads out of your domain, and they chase him until he is exhausted and can flee no more.
In a half-day's time, your neighbor send Ser Medwyck back to you in chains. In return, you aid him with some bandit problems.
Your men take him entirely unawares. So great is his surprise that he falls from his horse, putting up no fight.
An unseasonal mud slick around a corner catches him in full gallop. His horse is unharmed, but he is breathless. And captured.
Hailing from outside your domain, they're happy to oblige. They even deliver the trusted knight... without his purse, of course.
Ser Medwyck is a whirlwind with sword and morningstar! Your troops capture him, but not before he fells half of them. [+1 Wound - No Repeat]
Hailing from outside your domain, they're not as effective as you'd like. They do chase him back to your men, though. [+1 Wound - No Repeat]
Realm Alignment QuestShould you select the Realm option, the following Sworn Sword Quest will activate:
In exchange for some aid against some bandits, your neighbor returns the knight to you in chains. He tried to sell him some information about your keep.
A neighbor is so grateful for your revelations that he reveals Ser Medwyck as a spy, and delivers him to you.
A burly woodsman shows up at court with the older knight bound and gagged. He collects his coin gratefully.
It is too simple. A couple of pretty maids at the edges of your domain, an offer of drugged wine. He wakes in your dungeons.
Your agents return with his location and his notes on your domain. He is easily captured, and those notes will never be sold.
Hailing from outside your domain, they're happy to oblige. They even deliver the trussed knight... without his purse, of course.
